Instrumental Music
Instrumental Music at Narangba Valley State High School has grown into a thriving program that features a multitude of ensembles. Students regularly perform at various competitions and concerts throughout the year including Jazzin' Up The Mall, Urban Upbeat, Musicfest, Music Gala, Music Tours, ANZAC Day Ceremonies, Fanfare and have even had the opportunity to perform for past Prime Ministers John Howard and Kevin Rudd.
Students participate in weekly lessons on their chosen instruments with specialist teachers. At Narangba Valley State High School students also have the opportunity to audition for the Music Academy Program. Here they are given opportunities to extend and refine their performance skills and musicality beyond that of a regular classroom program.
Our past Instrumental Music students have gone on to study Bachelor of Music courses at the Conservatorium of Music, the Queensland University of Technology and the University of Queensland. Some have been invited to record and tour internationally with US ensembles.
