Parent teacher communication

PublishingPageContent

The education of our children is a shared responsibility between parents / carers and the school.

The most important thing in our relationship is that we work together for the best outcomes for our children. If students get the same messages from school and home, then the chances of their success and well-being is enhanced.

Sometimes poor communication leads to angst and we need to avoid this at all costs. Clearing up misunderstandings is done best by calm, honest dialogue and we have high expectations that respect is maintained at all times.

There are many ways for us to communicate effectively:

  • Newsletters
  • email
  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • Parent - Teacher Interviews
  • Phone calls, etc.
As teachers, we will work hard to provide parents and carers with the most relevant information about their child's progress.

How do I contact the school? Please refer to the Parent Communication Protocols

The Parent and Community Code of Conduct (PDF, 386KB) External link is a guide developed by the Department of Education and outlines our expectations.

The NVSHS Endorsed Student Code of Conduct 2024 to 2027 (PDF, 3MB).  This document also provides a wealth of information about our expectations and includes sections on what you can expect from us as well.
