Absence from school
If a student is going to be absent from school, the parent or guardian must phone the absence line school leaving details of absence. Details must include student name, parent name, form class and reason for absence.
If no notification has been received by the school the student will be marked with an ‘unexplained absence’ and parents/guardians will be notified via our message service.
Alternatively, you can email absences@narangbavalleyshs.eq.edu.au.
Late arrivals
Students who arrive late to school (regardless of time) must report to the Student Services window to obtain a late slip. Students must either have a note from a parent or guardian explaining their lateness. Alternatively, you may call the school.
If there has been no contact with the school regarding students being late for school, an immediate detention will be issued.
Early departure
If you require your student to leave school early the same process applies for late arrivals—a note or phone call to Student Services. Student Services will then issue the student with an early leave pass. Parents will not be required to sign the student out of school if they have been issued with a pass.
