Narangba Valley Professional
The Narangba Valley Profession (NVP) program rewards students who consistently demonstrate the school values, have outstanding effort and behaviour grades, and maintain a high level of school attendance.
Eligibility for becoming an NVP is determined twice per year, and the NVP status is held by the student for 10 weeks.
When students gain NVP status they are provided with a certificate, and they may also receive other benefits including a voucher to the NVSHS Canteen and an invitation to exclusive social excursions and events.
Explore the World with Our Spanish and Japanese Study Tours!
Our Languages Department is thrilled to offer an incredible opportunity for Year 10, 11, and 12 students studying Spanish or Japanese to immerse themselves in the rich cultures and languages they are learning. Alternating annually, these study tours provide a unique chance to experience the vibrant traditions, history, and daily life of Spain and Japan firsthand.
Each tour spans approximately two weeks and is carefully designed to combine cultural exploration, language immersion, and educational experiences. These tours are a fantastic way for students to bring their classroom learning to life, build confidence in their language abilities, and develop a global perspective.
We encourage all eligible students to take part in this exciting opportunity to broaden their horizons and deepen their connection to the language and culture they are passionate about.
Dance Camp
In preparation for a full year of eisteddfods and competitions, the Dance Troupe participates in an annual Dance Camp. This immersive experience provides students with dedicated time to focus on learning and refining new choreography in professional dance studio environments, working alongside experienced industry professionals.
The Dance Camp supports students to strengthen their technical skills, performance quality and rehearsal discipline while engaging in intensive training sessions. Equally important, the camp fosters strong connections within the troupe, allowing students to build trust, teamwork and ensemble cohesion - key elements for successful performance in competitive settings.
Through shared rehearsals, workshops and team-building activities, students develop a sense of commitment and collective responsibility, helping to establish a positive and supportive troupe culture for the year ahead.
Senior Visual Art Camp
Students enrolled in Year 11 General Visual Art participate in the annual Senior Visual Art Camp. This camp is held in Semester 2 each year, as students begin planning their Year 12 Visual Art assessment projects. This camp is an opportunity to inspire students' creativity and deepen their understanding of their wider surroundings. Students use the experiences from this camp to inform their inquiry question. This question provides the basis of their full Year 12 program in General Visual Art.
Music Camp
The Music Tour is a biannual opportunity for students to extend their learning beyond the classroom through immersive musical and cultural experiences. Participants engage in specialised workshops, collaborative rehearsals and performance opportunities while building trust, teamwork and independence.
Tours alternate between international and Australian destinations, allowing students to experience diverse musical traditions and environments. Whether travelling abroad or within Australia, the Music Tour fosters artistic growth, global awareness and lasting connections through shared performance experiences.
Arts Industry Workshops and Performances
Students involved in our Arts and Arts Excellence programs (Dance, Drama and Music) participate in a wide variety of industry-specific workshops and events throughout the year. These events range from professional choreography workshops to guest music ensemble conductors, music composition courses and theatre workshops. Students are also given the opportunity to experience a variety of professional live performances across each year.
